We

byLadyShianne©

They say there is no tomorrow
For my people of the land
They said we had to move
And not to make a stand

We wanted to stay
To live, to learn, to fight
But they came in the dark
Like a thief in the night

We stood as long as we could
Fighting with all we had
But they still made us leave
Making all of us sad

They fenced us all in
On what they call a reservation
We learned the new language
And got an education

They gave us what they would
We thank them for that
But still they were too greedy
For they took all that we had

We wanted them to like us
Wanted all to get along
But they treated us like dirt
Saying WE didn't belong

We saw them as a predator
Hunting down it's prey
They saw us as savages
Saying we couldn't stay

All we wanted was to live
To rise together as one
But they wouldn't let us
And now, we're all but gone
