These words are for every girl who believes she is the only one
For every woman who knows she is not
For each one who is unable to cry
We have all cried for you
Silence is the enemy
One whisper at a time we can push it back
We are sisters, we are not alone
We are the light and the courage
And the hope and the strength
We are the rage that we feel for what was ripped away
In every tear we are one
In every scream
With every breath we fight
We shatter the silence
With each sunrise and sunset
We fight
For innocence destroyed
By those who sinned and those who refused to believe
For every girl
For every woman
We say
I believe you
You are safe

Gooder!

I really enjoyed this piece. It evokes a lot of feelings in me. It was a bit wordy and it took away a little from the poems impact (My friends in the Poetry Feedback & Discussion Forum will be cracking up over this statement = I'm the Queen of Wordiness). None the less, VERY nice piece. Thanks for sharing it with me.
