We danced so close, you and I,
in the dreamy pre-dawn fog
          arms like silk ribbons
               securing our bodies
               around the warmth of desire.

We dance with great abandon, you and I,
across a makeshift dance floor
          the scent of the moment
               intoxicating our imaginations
               with images of alluring pleasure.

We danced on and on, you and I,
toward the inevitable conclusion
          the touch of your secrets
               wrenched from my grasp
               by morning's untimely arrival.
