That I cannot hold you in my arms
That your life is not precious to me
That your soul I cannot hold dear.
Do not tell me I cannot protect you
That I cannot wield my weapon for you
To keep you safe from bodily harm
To keep you from danger all around.
There is no law can keep me from it,
Protective urges near demand it.
I am a man, warden of family
Gentle keeper of love's well being.
