Glimpses of flesh
All i could see was isolated bits and pieces.
I was consumed by the icey blue.
The combination of the hot body
and cold sweat was dizzying.
The lock on my hands was paralizing.
One momment i couldn't move
The next i was overwhelmed by the rhythm
The passion swallowed me whole
My brain turned off and all that was left was us
Just two bodies, melding, mixing, morphing.
Two moving as one
One fluid act of our deepest desires
One dance of intamacy
One completely euphoric momment
And then it was over.
When the apex of my blissful fantasy came down
It let me down into the realization that i was not dreaming.
The smooth skin and rushing heart beat
They were both real.
The cool crystal sea of blue was there too.
It was still there to softly ground me back to reality
Those two sparkling lakes that took me in in silence
When my feet finally set back down
I was swept away with an intense contentment.
The strength and warmth wrapped around me.
For those few momments
Laying there enclosed by one another's presence,
Time stopped.
There was nothing left to me but that room.
The drone of the forgotten movie, the scent of two mingling.
Later after pretending to gather myself together
I felt the craving again.
The experience only fueled my fantasies.
I could still smell and taste him,
I could still feel him coursing through my viens.
I felt the need build between us.
My blood boiled in anticipation of a second encounter
Every touch or glance, any kind of nearness,
It all brought me closer to that plateau.
I soared higher with each sensation.
We then brought each other to new heights.
Coming down again was simply put, amazing.
Now all that is left of that warmth and comfort
Is a dull stiffness of long unused muscles
And invisible bruises in intimate places.
What i will never forget
Was the drug that satiated all my needs.
That infectuous feeling of purpetual ecstasy.
The one thing i cannot remove from my mind,
Those crystaline orbs.
Those endless seas of comfort and affection.
Those truly amazing and beautiful eyes,
They will follow me into eternity
And once there, i will welcome him again.
Molly I think you are trying too much for a first poem. It starts with a nice poetic feel, but then breaks down into prose at times. You would also benefit from an editor, or at least a spell checker. I think you have talent, but you need to learn how to say what you feel.
Keep writing, that is the only way to improve.
Thanks Molly. Your description of the events that lead to:
"Now all that is left of that warmth and comfort
Is a dull stiffness of long unused muscles
And invisible bruises in intimate places."
were great.
This piece may have scored higher in my estimation had you corrected the spelling errors in your poem. Don't hesitate to use a spell checker on your work before you submit it for posting. You'd be surprised at what it will do to make the rhythm of your writing less jarring.
