The smell of spring wafts past my nose
moist with soil and budding rose

memories sweet as cherry wine
filling my soul with a better time

perhaps the dreams were mine alone
the seeds by my own hand sown

Your eyes hide secrets I long to hear
secrets are yours not mine, that's clear

You never thought about my heart
that alone tears me apart

I thought I knew you had a plan
I thought I knew you were my man

reality created inside my head
flowers of spring, long are dead
