If words truly had weight,
How light would “love” be?
How heavy, “hate”?

If “war” were being weighed
Would the scales
Somehow break?

How skinny would be “money”
How obese would be “faith”?

Would the number come up even
If “justice”
sat on top?

If words truly had weight,
How hefty, “no”
How bulky, “stop”

I’ve a scale in my bedroom
To weigh the words I’ve yet to write
And though I only eat rough verbage,
I gain ten pounds every night.

Very philosophical. A nice idea, well executed.
