What Dreams Do You Still Have,
Do you want me to play a part
Is there room for me,
To have a place in your heart?

Picnics with grandchildren,
Road trips here and there.
Swimming, Golf, Tennis, anyone?
An outing to the State Fair

I could croon to you
at a few Karaoke Bars,
Laying on a blanket ant the beach,
by the fire, under the stars.

You own house,
this one I know,
to secure your future,
and for those that you love.

To experience the good life,
living to the fullest,
As if without a care,
Free from want and strife.

You talk of my poetry getting into print,
I write only for you,
But if your dream includes more for them,
Then who am I to deny.

I, too have dreams,
but for me, I doubt they will come true,
For while I hope you get all of yours,
mine is only getting you.

To spend what time I have
remaining upon the Earth,
Looking forward to each day,
As if given a renewed life,

I doubt our dreams are the same,
We seem to want different things
I only want to be with you,
You want all that life brings.

So again I ask, What Dreams Do You Have,
Do you want me to play a part
Is there room for me, in your life,
To have a place in your heart?
