but it’s not
but it’s a beautiful sham
laid on covers
perfectly presented
so everything looks right
and it’s right
but not quite
but a courageous fight
this one
person production
of ooh and ahh over
believe in stars
cast floating
red carpet
fairy tales
but it’s me
banging loudly
on the instruments
their minds
they’re fooled
but not fools
it’s not foolish
we’ve come so far
it’s just quiet
behind the curtain
I stand here alone
