his every wish come true
save for one
the heart on his sleeve
draws her sunken eyes

they bend
under the weight
of their shared need
trading a friend
for a lover
is not zero-sum
warm solace
cools quickly

down a littered alley
moldy brick walls
echo his start-stop footsteps
greasy posters of gushing teens

I loved this:

This read had me getting closer to the puter w/ each
line. I don't fully understand it, but the words
and stlye make it a page turner.
