The stars are secrets the moon lets you in on
Sparkling in their naïve ways.
Smiling, as if mockingly, holding a secret
Themselves. In such ways that we
Are only left to ponder in the scorching
Rays of light.

Seeing, but only a glimpse of that well-kept
Secret. Like a child's play-
Coming, and going.
Taunting with myth and mystery.

Shadowed by blackness, hidden by sinister,
But themselves-
Full of crystal light. The kind that makes
You forget your name. your being. Your origin.
Only left to stare, wishing....
Star light, star bright....

The stars are secrets
The moon lets you in on.
The fish are hopes the ocean lets you see.
And the wind-
The wind is a song whispered,
A song that can foretell the past- memories
Of long ago- of youthful laughter
And watermelon on scraped cheeks.

Of the dance that everyone dances,
Not remembering fully why,
But only glimpsing.
