What is in a word
It is more than just vowels and consonants
It is an idea
A thought
An emotion
We have seen how they can bring nations together with the hope of peace
Or drive them apart into the despair of war
They can give a man freedoms
Or cast him into the shackles of slavery
They can be used to lift others with compassion
Or push them down with contempt
They can fill us with knowledge
Or drain ones self-esteem
They can show our strengths
Or expose our weaknesses
They can speak of love
Or spew hate
The power of words are endless
So remember
The words we use so freely
Come with a price
