2002

Walls whisper in dust
as winds stir remnants.
No longer can I recall
the room he built.

Beams and boards
were gradual. I became plaster,
nails in a paced floor.

When he left
foundation shifted,
surface cracked,
forms crumbled.

I stand once more,
though not these walls.
