Nothing is silence personified; a tear falling onto flesh
When there is nothing, the heart ceases to suffer; vanished soul
Darkness rides in on black steed, cloaking all existence
As angels recede; folded wings with halos bent
Oceans thirst; no longer waves of white caress
And rainbows fade to black and white
Hope blisters and falls below the chasm of destiny
Despair fornicates, birthing barren fruits
Sight vacates, no longer seeing hidden truths
That once was spoken with great fervor
When there is nothing, blood runs freely
From knives that cut to bone and vein
And air thickens; taunting, teasing lungs
Death beckons, grabbing ground for coffin’s rest
Skull cracks empty mind; broken brain
When there is nothing, one no longer weeps
Finding peace beneath the layers
Holding nothing like echoes from the past
And life is no more.
