Where two hearts meet
there is hope in the exchange
there is anxiety in the need
daring for more than connection, understanding

The communication, the exchanges between two lives
living in the hope
excitement in the anticipation
of more than entwined hands,
entwined minds, entwined souls

So easy to give the heart to quickly
desire to quench the loneliness
connect to fill the void
holding the breath in eagerness

Expectations a fantasy easily dashed
Dark nights in waiting
Hope against hope against experience
Living in potentials

Eager for more than an encounter
Yearning for a heartfelt love
But relishing in having more than a friend
Realizing there is more

When two hearts meet
while enjoying the anticipation
enduring the pain of unmet expectations
living in the now, learning to live
in what is offered

One may hope
one may wish
and in the wishing find what may be
When the mind is open and
the heart assenting
the soul can exist in peace.

Your words

convey your feelings. Thank you for sharing them. Can be difficult sometimes. One thing is certain in this world: if you don't at least try to reach another, you will never touch anyone. You are reaching. You'll find something, maybe someone, that way. Something is always better than nothing.

Loved the honesty...

This is beautifully written. I loved how you conveyed the needs and expectations of the two hearts!

Loved all of it, but my absolute favorite lines:

When the mind is open and

the heart is assenting

the soul can exist in peace
