Lie still...

I've heard your laughter
                   as it sang clear
                              on my chest;
I've seen your legs
                   bronzed from the sun
lying half in, half out,
                   of the bunched sheets
                              while you sleep.

I want to get inside you
                   for awhile.
No, not the way I was
                   earlier.
I've explored your turns,
                   your curves...
                 ...the outside of you.
Now I want to know you
                 from the inside
                    (where you really are.)

I want to see--
           --to feel
what happens inside you
             when you smile,
so I'll know what you like.

Where do the words I speak
go rushing to when you hear them?
And why you react the way you do
             when you recognize
                              my voice?

When I touch you there
and there, and there, and there,
I want to see
where that travels,
            and if it really feels
that good to you upon its arrival.

Lie still...

I want to know
            all I can,
                 ...about you.
