While smoking a cigarette afterwards
A scent of flowery hair,
windswept at first,
then cascading forward
settling finally in long strands
upon my chest;
Stirs an echo of little words
nothings both sweet and serious,
that dripped across the space
between our mouths and our hearts,
by way of our ears;
That pools up into loosely captured phrases,
that I keep deep inside my thoughts;
Forming a memory of you,While smoking a cigarette afterwards
A scent of flowery hair,
windswept at first,
then cascading forward
settling finally in long strands
upon my chest;
Stirs an echo of little words
nothings both sweet and serious,
that dripped across the space
between our mouths and our hearts,
by way of our ears;
That pools up into loosely captured phrases,
that I keep deep inside my thoughts;
Forming a memory of you,
with that look and smile,
and that mischievous laugh,
now on the couch,
now standing here and there,
but mostly of you at my side;
Looking lovely, as usual,
falling through the open air;
As I gathered you into my arms.
with that look and smile,
and that mischievous laugh,
now on the couch,
now standing here and there,
but mostly of you at my side;
Looking lovely, as usual,
falling through the open air;
As I gathered you into my arms.
