Somnolence sashayed in wearing tulle and lace.
And I saw so much in the satin reflection.
She still seems a girl to me, but to the world,
She is a woman in dancing shoes.

Some dance and sing, and yet others slumber.
I never was a woman until I took off my dress,
And danced naked alone in the dark,
Feeling my way blindly to wakefullness.

Drowsy white dress stomping ground,
To wear what is not will never,
Never define me again.
For me alone, I will be enough.

Never needing expectations,
If the mood strikes, tarantella with me.
We'll embrace the unknown,
Fighting delirium in isolation or together.

As for you lethargic lothario,
Muse of old, brittle bane,
Leave me be, I prefer it,
You will never wear me again.

The first stanza is good and there are some good lines in the poem. But I think it needs some more work to reach its full potential. I hope you'll visit literotica's poetry forum and post your poem for more comments.
