Click hereEmpty lives hide behind white lies.
What lies beneath your sullen eyes?
Smooth and unmoving to the touch, like stone,
entrancing and alluring to the vision our mind so shallowly holds.
No release proves great enough to satisfy
my hunger for the oblivious high you provide.
Kingdoms and dimensions are buried in your sand;
not worthy proved, has my fellow man.
Capturing and dangerous, how you hold your enemies.
When someone talks to you, you speak to yourself.
Let them in for a small, un-realizing taste
of a sick land hidden deep in what they waste.
You've risen above, yet you're stuck on earth.
What monster could bare such an unjust punishment?
Only a fallen angel could endure such a curse.
Your simplicity disproves me
and makes your allure all the worse.
No love for the hunt only for your capture,
playing mercilessly with your prey.
Does it amuse you how easily we're enslaved, betrayed, and given away?
Blow your magic on me again because
I need a fix, a trip, an absent friend.
So tell me because you're omnipotent, omnipresent, and wise:
What empty life hides behind your white lies?
What lies beneath your sullen eyes?
truth is a rock, lies are wishy-washy like water... the current takes me away! nice write (~_*)
keep going...if you go to the poetry forum there are some good threads for new poets--you will learn bunches (but not from me cuz I'm a hack).
