Who Are You?

Who are you?
You sit there tapping your pen
Staring intently at space.
I know your name
For we have spoken.
But I do not know you.
You lock me out
As if I'm a thief
Come to steal your heart.
What makes you tick?
Who scared you into isolation?
What do you love? Hate?
What turns you on? Off?
I do not bite;
I will not harm you.
You are important,
I won't rob your being.
I watch, silently yearning for knowledge.
Trust me
I know your name.
Who are you?
