It is from the deep pit of loneliness

That I hear the earth’s call

The gentle voice in the wind

Calling me to awaken

Silence greets me each morning

As the brilliant rays of the sun

Gently bathe me in glorious light

How is it with such beauty

As the song of the wind and

The blazing light of the rising sun

Should I feel such loneliness?

Why does my soul cry out to the world?

Calling for something to fill the void

What sweet promise the sun brings

Yet still I feel empty.

As the sun sets so does my heart

Sinking back into the murky darkness

Of being alone.
