Widow

"Don't you hurt me anymore,
I'm at the edge a woman scorned"
He raised his fist for the last time
Her freedom blade thrust in his side

Once I peered in through her unlocked door,
I watched the Widow take some more
She said it hurt and I believe
the sticky web in her silence, weaved.

Pills and booze she tried to cope
Swing to heaven on a rope
She's dying of a broken heart
And its too late for another start

She said it's peaceful, the loneliness
but it leaves her cold inside.
