Sun shining
Warm all about
Coldness in my soul
Wanting to shed and break free.

Caught in a whirlwind
Of mind games and pain
Trying my best to learn
How to love again.

Was my sin so great
That I'm never permitted
Happiness in my life
A glimmer of hope in my road.

Am I such a bad person
That I don't deserve
Love, compassion and decency
To be shown as I've given.

Will there ever be
Contentment, fulfillment
Love that is desired
Desire that is yearned for.
