I thought you were the one
To help me fly
To mend my broken wings
Your voice... sweeter
Than Angels in Heaven sing
Your words
How carefully
You thought them out and chose them
Methodical
Planned
sometimes they were as indifferent
...as the cold wind
Often as caring and warm
...as the blazing sun
So I never...
Never...
really knew where I stood
When looking for the warmth
I found the cold chill
When hoping for my heart
To be left as before
..to Freeze....
Under your cold chilling wind
To end this pain
To no longer hope
...Hope
Of mending my broken wings...
You would bring to me
Your warmth
But only in spoonfuls
Only to sing me a half chorus...
To melt my heart a little
..remind me how to fly
Just to dash my hopes
Then LEAVE me
No explanations... no sharing..
No WHY'S.....
The cold of your silence
was too harsh for me
It chilled me to the bone...
And the warmth of your seduction
That had so tempted me
I wanted to feel from you no more
...
The songs of love you sang me
The embraces of what you said you did want...
Were all but lost the moment....
That I never got a response.
You left me all alone
Took away all the sweet songs you sang
Did not once hold out your hand
To help hold my broken wings...
You took away all you promised
...
but maybe... they were never promises at all
No ..you were always shadowed...
living your life .....
shrouded by a pall
All the sweetly sung songs of temptation..
I suppose they served you well
You swooped down to take what you needed
Knowing you could fly on just as well
You drained me of my Hope
You took away my very soul
The soul that I let you melt and take with you
To have forever as your own.....
OH- what seeds you did sew.....
Taking all and flying away...
Singing only to yourself your Angel's song....
But leaving me alone ....
Broken wings.... and the will to mend now Gone.
