The heartless season invaded slowly
Slush and slide are reigning boldly
The valleys of my country’s kinsmen;
Swept by winds from Washington
Frosty clouds hover, a political haze,
Shivering bones by proclamations
Clanging loud against liberty’s bell
As rights for citizens are ever chilled
Against foreign terrorist we rally call
While selfish thoughtless policy reigns
And makes our forefather’s heroes fall
From lofty pedestals within brick halls.
