I wish upon the stars,
I wish upon the moon,
and all I see around me,
is love in full bloom.

It blooms for her,
it blooms for him,
still it does not bloom for me.
Why I wonder, what have I done,
why doest thou punish me?

For punishment it feels,
tearing at my chest,
the loneliness inside me,
wringing my heart without rest.

"This pain will leave," I promise.
I know it to my core.
For if it does not leave me,
I shall wish to suffer no more.

These sweet interludes of love,
they leave me wanting more.
For I've felt love once or twice,
letting my heart soar.

Until the day love sets me free,
lets my heart find that special place,
I'll keep breaking my heart again and again,
Till I find the one I'm meant to embrace.
