I made a wish upon a star
and sent the wish to you.
Upon the winds it traveled far,
I blew some kisses, too.

Winds returned without a kiss,
I waited and I hoped,
To no avail was my wish
and for a while I moped.

At twilight time I told the Moon,
She listened to my troubles.
Move on, She said, and let it go.
Now hope floats off like bubbles.

Into the dusk I watched it float
up to the Moon and stars.
'Though wistful thoughts are with me now,
I hide them in my heart.

Now this has more impact than your other submission today. You convey the sad wistful longing so well.
