I looked across the waters
the mist hangs in the trees
Melancholy befalls me
I sank unto my knees

My thoughts went to the spirits
would they listen to my pleas
Thier voices returned unto me
in the whisper of the trees

Lo! They said "We cannot help
you must look into your heart.
For the visions that we show
are but a minor part"

As I sat and pondered this
the clouds rolled softly by
For sadness was upon me
a single tear I cry

Will I sink into darkness?
Has contentment passed me by?
Will I feel the passion?
Or continue to live this lie

These questions were repeated
like the looping of a tape
Will I ever see the light
Or sink in bitterness and hate

I wish there was an answer
A direction I can go
A place of peace and quiet
to cleans this weary soul

Time will come I'll walk away
As selfish as this seems
But until this day presents itself
I'll live within my dreams
