For those of us
Who really know
What is like to be without... .
.
.
.

The fire too hot to be ignored
The thirst to strong not to quench
The emptiness too painful not to fill
The passion impossible to be without
Restless at night....

Taken for granted too long, here but not
Forgotten souls find, what is missed at home
The scars of the absence, silencing the senses
For a heart needs a beat, and passion to beat for
Lonely but not alone...

For this affliction is not a disease, but a void
Not a light hearted soul, but passionately empty
Drowning my mind, in waters that numbed
Judged by some who might someday know
Misunderstood...

For if you not know how it feels to be without
Don't be too quick to point and shoot
There is not greater loss, than emptiness of soul
And reasons abound, for becoming this numb
Don't judge...

I have found an escape hatch, a partner in flight
And once more my fires burn, so don't judge
What you don't know....
