Woman Child

Salomé, if she could choose, would have
Herodias admonish him and laugh.

This woman child, if she knew, would claim
Some beads from Antipas to save her name
From gospel saints with fire breathing hands.

And if the girl sought joy, she then might dance
Before the looking glass and dildo Ba’al’s
Moist woman’s gift beneath her seven veils.

Instead tonight she’ll not moan in her bed
But dine on silver that carries his head.
