I've roamed the Earth a thousand times
  and walked a million miles.
I've been taken in by lust and dreams
  and kissed a million smiles.
And when it all is said & done
I can't help but think it's just begun
And where tonight is MY someone?

Heaven knows...
She's a Woman of Shadow.

I catch a glimpse 'neath streetlamps now
  of a failing memory.
And when I see her she beckons me on.
  She's such a pretty tease.
In dreams only can I touch her
In slumber only do I feel her caress
Where does she sleep tonight?

Heaven knows...
She's a Woman of Shadow.

And when the darkness closes in
at the end of the lonely days
I find myself wandering again
  'cross forests, hills, and bays.
Where does the light end
Where does the shadowy truth begin?

Heaven knows...
She's a Woman of Shadow.
