Flickering kindling
Smoldering fire
Draft enveloping
Dragon’s head higher
Yellow dancing
Laughing fire
Log upon log
Drivels like lava.

Stoke the fire
For some rhyme
Before all embers
Die at last

And Fortune above
The swarthy heat moves
Deep in the night
Dust and ash
Urban or pastoral
From the flue
To ethereal
Infinite time.
