Words once more potent than freedom, folly, or fright
Words carved out of the heart
Glinting scarlet, words emblematic of love
Words breathed in silence first, now cut conversation in aside, the matter of fact
Words breathing in fluttering life, now words as common as any other three

Words
Losing color
Cooling to the ear
Crawl through the mind and
Creep down the spine
Words now emblazon each cell, vessel, organ chamber: rubbing warm at their hearths
Words silenced in the roar of new significance

Silenced...by their own sound

Words shudder in each touch, unspoken

Echo
Everlast in the tremble of muscles, flex of sinews, give of the skin
Burn endlessly anew in each tiny, cellular place for the fire of love
