But truly, you can't really mean that speech
should not be needed when things are alright?
There will be times when even love must reach
a shadowlands where words restore the light:
to each one's joys are all there are, it seems,
and when all different signals stay unseen
the residue of never spoken dreams
will be a wordless distance in between.
