Firefly fame in youth burn bright
Ages, forgetful, condemning light
Illumine sexed hubris, sloth and pain
Dirt and dew-covered clefts: grassy with grain
Rhine or Nile, Danube or Miss
Vents above, below, they hiss
Die soft, die long while above we take
Petal's prerogative along sweet lake
Soft-skinned, selfish and workably slow
We wait and roughly rape every surface below
