Authors note: This evolved as fragments and thoughts over a period of correspondence
with a very special person. I offer you my thanks and gratitude for caring, laughing,
helping, and giving, no matter the path you've been an important part that I pray is not yet

Wounds
Callused and scared by time.
Beyond wounds of circumstance,
Guess that's how I'm broken.
The weight of these scars blanket me
In unseen guilt,
They wrap me and consume me
To stay behind is to stay in their warmth.

To be free of it.
I am compelled to break the binds of these scars,
Of These Wounds,
Yet to do that I must face the pain.
My untreated break ignored,
That did not heal right.
To truly heal I must re-open the injury
I have ignored it for so long,
Can I be put to right?

Can I be put to right?
I have ignored it for so long,
To truly heal I must re-open the injury
That did not heal right.
My untreated break ignored,
Yet to do that I must face the pain.
Of These Wounds
I am compelled to break the binds of these scars,
To be free of it.

To stay behind is to stay in their warmth.
They wrap me and consume me
In unseen guilt,
The weight of these scars blankets me
Guess that's how I'm broken.
Beyond wounds of circumstance,
Callused and scared by time.
