that come like scarred children,
tip-toe down wooden hallways and freeze
at board creaks,
as if they were knife blade accusations.
I coax and then
cleanse them
of prejudice
before I commit them
unknowingly
to eternity.
where they linger
hungry eyed and forgotten
waiting for parental approval
of the public.
Very good with two small points:
Is this about writer's block or writer's fear? It sounds like the writing isn't the problem but apprehension over how it will be received. I can certainly relate to writer's dread!
And the other picky point - I assume you mean to say scared children (as opposed to children with scars - scarred).
I might question a word choice or two, but over all I find this a novel take on a recurring problem.
Thank you for the read.
