She worn very tight Levi's
her smile was most sublime
poured a jigger of gold tequila
and reached for a lime,

Everyone in the bar watched
memorized by her moves
until the wild horses arrived
sounds of a thousand hooves,

Down the dirt street they came
yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay
boiling sun in a High Noon sky
another busy day,

Here on the edge of the Milky Way
this dusty desert town
the girl regained composure
and washed the liquor down,

Glass of beer from a fancy tap
some Yuppie micro-brew
wind picked up, shutters clashed
and I thought of you,

The last time we went drinking
a dark downtown night
you left the next morning
no note by the bedside light,

Tight jeans and straight tequila
and beer, you talked a lot
but didn't speak of leaving
though you slowly tied the knot,

Around your wants and wishes
a parcel bundled tight
threw it from the bridge
on the way home that night,

And left the next morning
heading who knows where
tending bar out west, I heard
and cut short your hair,

Oops

I meant:

and cut short your hair

(without the comma at the end)

I might add this comment

I don't want to pick apart your very good poem, but how about this for the last line:

and cut short her hair
