You broke my toe today
It hurt a little
I think it’s healing

Then we taped it to another toe
That hurt, I cried a little
But now it’s healing

My toe survived
I can walk again
It finally healed

I would have said
You broke my heart
That would give you to much credit

No, you broke my toe
Not even my big toe
But one of the middle ones

So I win
Every once and awhile
My toe hurts

But not too much

Clever! I think this might be the best of your poems so far. This is a delightfully gentle and tender work that tugs at the heart strings. I really like this one a lot. Keep it up :-)

Really different and thought provoking and I am very jealous! Not of the broken toe but of the idea!
