You
Make
Me notice
Everything
I smell the woman
Who waits her turn
Hear tearing boxes
Each drop of water
See every line of shadow
Every red streak highlight
In her hair I can count them
Keys jingle I hear three
Distinct metal sounds
Sweeping broom
Is a push
Chlorine bleach vapor
Burns nose eyes
Refrigerator closes
Close eyes
You seep in
Through harmonica notes
Amber lights
I feel everything
Tongue on teeth
Fabric on skin
Hand tucked between crossed knees
Coffee too late in nervous stomach
Ache in twisted back
Harmonica wavers
You seep in
Head falls to chest
In your heaviness
I feel everything
Check the clock
To see if it is safe.
The second street light
Will burn out in 2 hours
I notice these things
I do not want to
You make me.
