You’ll miss me when I’m gone,
She whispers before she walks,
He shakes his head but already.
His searching for memories not letting go,

He thought he was doing the right thing,
Letting her leave now, when she still could,
But either way it was going to hurt,
He just didn’t realise it would hurt this bad,

He never thought that he’d let her go,
She was going to be his happy ending,
Now he’s realising that nothing goes according to plan,
He just wishes that he could have kept her

Even knowing he couldn’t have
It would have been unfair to her,
He couldn’t give her what she wanted,

She’ll thank me when she has it,
He tells himself trying not to feel guilty,
Trying not to hurt, trying to move on,
Knowing that it’s never going to be the same.
