Your Dreams Be True
As I laid down to rest, to sleep
I thought of you, wished
To dream of you…
I pictured my hand gently touching
the side of your soft face
My rough lips resting lightly on yours
Our warm bodies aching
Our embracing legs entwining;
Our panting breaths mingling…
Thoughts of us together
Keep me tossing in the night
For, though I sleep alone
I can feel your thigh, your arms
about me still, as last we were;
I missed your being there…
Shortly, I knew, you would be
by my side, all of our dreaming
thoughts would be real again;
my heart ached for that moment
knowing it was to be,
would be, very soon.
Yes, slept you well my darling?
Did you think of me, dream of me?
No matter, for tonight I will be
More than in your thoughts
we will be together
This very night:
There will be no dreams!
