Mother after I told you I wanted to be a boy. The look of disappointment on your face shattered me.
For years I dreamed of making you proud. Proving you right, and not letting your scarifies be in vain.
I chose myself this time and lost the person that's always been there.
I'm still in Florida
But I can't find you
They say you moved to North Carolina trying to do right with my sisters.
Everyday I carry the weight of your refusal down to the house where dad use to beat you because you dared that he contribute something to my education.
Why as lie in this house, finally the man I dreamed of becoming, do I still search for your acceptance?
After all that's happened, I would give anything to be your son.
