but I don't have
to tie any ties
I don't have a car
but I've got the stars
and the bars
I don't have a p.h.d.
but I read some books
and pen a few ideas
I don't have a wife
but birdsong
is the soundtrack of my life
I've got no lies to tell
or wars to fight,
no arguments to dissect
to figure out who's right.
I've got time to study sparrows
and ask them what they know
and where they go.
