dedicated to my Saudi buddy Sultan Alashari
I say,
bring the troops home-
!!NOW!!
not in 6 months,
not in a year;
let's leave the tanks and all the gear
a man can't carry on his back,
let's pull the last American flag
the hell out of Iraq
I say
bring the troops home;
do you ask "Why?;
Shouldn't we hang around
and protect our allies?"
I say where did you get these ideas?
maybe from powerful men
who certainly don't just covet oil
along with the bloody spoils
I say
bring the troops home,
as fast as them ships and planes are able;
there's no time for the dems' "time-table,"
our invasion was an imperial crime
without any other reason or rhyme
(if you think I lie,
a million Iraqi dead can testify)
Policing our own wrongs
isn't going to bring them to light;
If other powers want to move in,
well then, all right
I'd see it different
if there were some logical point to the fight
aside from pretending it was
all somehow right
But it's plain as day there isn't
so let's make them bring the troops home-
this very night
