The next time I saw my girlfriends, they were smiling at me. They could tell that something was different about me. And apparently, they liked it. I smiled, and nodded. Everyone knew. They embraced me and welcomed me. We were still a sisterhood. The sisterhood of big women who are confident and proud of their bodies. The sisterhood of women who are sexually adventurous and bold, yet care deeply about the men in their lives. The sisterhood of worshipers of Samuel X, who was deified recently. We erected thousands of temples to him worldwide. For he is the man who showed all humanity, men and women, blacks and whites, straights and gays, the light of the future.
