Click hereI wasn't sure how to respond to that. It seemed like an awfully intimate thing to tell someone you just met. "Is there, like, an exam you have to pass to become a full priest? Do you keep failing it, or something?"
"More or less," Egear told me. "To be a full priest, you have to have a demonic familiar." He sighed. "I've done the demon summoning spell hundreds of times. But nothing ever shows up!"
I frowned. "Maybe you're just no good at that type of magic." My best friend, Marian, had a similar problem. There were a number of classes of magic she just couldn't do. She was, however, an incredibly powerful healer. "Is there some alternative test?"
"No," Egear said glumly. "There's not. I don't suppose you have any advice on demon summoning?"
We talked about the ins and outs of summoning demons for a bit. Egear knew the theory better than I did. In fact, his grasp of magical theory in general was quite impressive. Much better than mine. I always had trouble with the more advanced math. Calculus sucked.
Dinner arrived with Egear's replacement. This priest, also junior, didn't want to talk to me. Eventually I went to sleep.
A small squeal came out of me when I saw you had posted new material and especially because Saban and Anita are back.
I love this! I wonder if Anita actually took another lover of if it’s a picture of Saban! I can hardly wait for the next chapter!!
