Click here"Very well. Gratitude, dame, for the conversation. Alas, your answers require me to cut it short," he said, nodding over Kaisa's shoulder. Her gaze swiveled to follow, finding a beautiful sorceress clad in black bouncing towards their table, wearing the world's most nervous smile.
"Kaisa!" she greeted, leaning down to briefly wrap an arm around her shoulders. "It's so good to see you," the black-haired sorceress said cheerfully, placing a small green vial on the table in front of her.
"You too, Tacita," Kaisa was commanded to say through her teeth, picking up the vial.
"That potion took me ages. I hope it will suffice for your needs," the sorceress smiled, performing her part in a play that Kaisa didn't know the ending to. She could only glare at her in reply.
Talos of Evora pushed away from the table, and rose to his feet. "I'm afraid I'll have to decline the position of retainer," he smirked. "A pleasure to see you, however. And thank you for your time."
Kaisa popped the cork off of the vial in her hand, shivering with anger from the man's insolence. She would hunt this Talos down to the ends of the world once she were free of this enchantment.
"Drink for now, and forget of revenge," he added gruffly.
The inquisitor did as commanded as she watched Talos and the sorceress walk away, ingesting the contents of the green vial with a shaking hand.

"Dame! Dame! Please, wake yourself!"
Kaisa groggily opened her eyes to meet an unknown day, finding her trusted thrall Jirolin standing above her as she laid in an unknown bed, shaking her awake. She found her extremeties asleep, and clenched her fists. Her body felt sore, as if she had just awoken from a week-long slumber.
"What... where are we, Jirolin?" she softly asked, darting her eyes about an unknown room. She had been sleeping in her armor, a rare event if she weren't on the road.
"We're in Catriona, dame. Do you not remember?"
She did not. She softly shook her head, her brows rising in worry as she looked upon her man.
"You had me send a letter to Matriarch Annabelle, on Dun Aysla," he continued, answering an unasked question. "I have just returned, and await your command."
"I... would have you tell me all you remember," Kaisa said after a yawn, straining herself to sit upright on the bed. Jirolin's hand was laid on her back for support. "What words did the letter contain?"
"Of who you suspect of the Emerald Moon event. And that we would travel to Evora next, to hunt the traitors down."
Kaisa squinted at him, not at all following along with his explanation. "Emerald... moon?" she hesitantly asked. Her thrall gave her a grimace of worry, which only hastened her own pulse.
"Jirolin, please, start at the beginning," Kaisa commanded breathlessly. "I find myself at an extreme disadvantage here."
And btw, 1 hour time difference at 500 miles distance puts them a little below the 60th parallel. And that is northern Canada. In my opinion a more likely place will northern United States, or near the 45th parallel. Which will make the time difference between them about 35 minutes. But that's just my opinion.
It somehow skipped my eyes when I looked at your bio page last time. I also obviously didn't read the comments in chapters 9 and 10, otherwise I'd have seen the comments about the map. But thanks a lot. It helps to imagine and visualize the story when you have a map to go with.
Just some nerd fact:
If their world (planet?) has the same volume as earth and their days are 24 hours days like on earth, considering the fact that Redstone and Catriona are 500 miles away and have a time difference of 2 hours, on earth they'd ber situated near the 81st parallel, very close to North Pole and even further north from Siberia or Alaska. Either that or their planet is much much smaller with a very low gravity.
Nice development of the story. I'm going to have to catch up with the remaining chapters.
Btw, I remember you once posted a link to an incomplete rough map of that world. Any chance you'd post the map on your bio page?

First, your worldbuilding has been excellent and often uncanny; no complaints. (A very high-end sci-fi flavour.)
A very competent empath is fully melded with Talos. (Who additionally has a rare natural ward.) This is a puzzle. All will be revealed. The mind will wander until then, e.g. an explanation might involve, in part, something like "supernaturally timed exposure to one or more sex hormone analogues/antagonists during male fetal development...".
Kaisa is an avatar of the Emperor of Man. That is a type I dislike by default. In all worlds.
I do not like her type.
Treat my earlier comment as teasing, from a possible-male.
