Click hereAlthaia gave the drow a smile. She switched to Undercommon, which she had rapidly been becoming half-competent at. She was still worse at Undercommon than Tsabdrin was at Common, but understandable despite her accent and knowledge on only the most common words. "I would like that." She said gravely. "I assume though that this is you and Tsabdrin, rather than you and Selene?" Althaia wanted to get along with Selene, but the younger drow had never really warmed up to her.
"Yeah, me and Tsabdrin," Ashyr responded with a nod, and in the language Althaia used. Ashyr wasn't the best person to learn her native language from. Her accent was nowhere near as refined as Selene and Tsabdrin. Both her cousins made that clear. But the ranger still tried to speak to the paladin in undercommon as much as possible. When she remembered. "Selene barely strays far from Caleldir these days... But I think it might be good for each of us to spend a night with you alone. Even Selene. Especially Selene... I mean, if you're up for it?"
Althaia nodded. "Both of you at once? Sounds like a dream come true." She licked her lips again. "And yeah, I had noticed that Selene sticks pretty close to Caleldir. I think that she even went with him to see Gurzan earlier today. I would imagine that those two would get along rather well, actually. Both have a passion for order, and tend towards putting on grouchy fronts. I will have to get the details on that meeting from Caleldir when he gets back. But, on to your other thought, I think that would be a great idea. One night with each of you. I have a lot I would like to say before we part ways. I mean, it has only been about a month that we have been together, but it has been by far the most eventful month of my short life. You all are the first real friends that I have had." She shook her head. "Those other nymphs were a bit too self-absorbed to qualify."
"I don't know. Those twins seemed to be really 'into' each other." Ashyr responded with a wide grin. "But yeah, I didn't see them pay much attention to you besides wondering why you weren't raping all of us like they were. Well. Rape is a strong word, for me." She looked like she was going to say more, but her crimson eyes shifted downward and right behind the paladin nymph. "We can talk about it later. Looks like you're wanted again. We'll be waiting for you in your bed tonight."
"Oh, they were good friends by their standards." Althaia replied. "It is just that they operated on very different standards of... well, everything. They lacked substance or depth. Many fae do. They lack culture or art, law or philosophy. They neither read nor write, squandering their substantial mental capabilities on... well, nothing. Nymphs are a highly intelligent race, more so than elves or humans. Yet they are too lazy to develop their minds and make use of it." She sighed. "Yes, we can talk about this later. See you tonight." She turned to Hadia. "Now, about that last item you gave me..."
Then Ashyr winked - a final reminder of what was to come - and left the library they were in with a mischievous grin spread across her face.
