She could hear his soft drawl as clear in her mind as she had in her dream. She could almost feel him there with her, the moment was so strong. Somewhere deep inside her she knew, despite all the miles that separated them, he could feel her longing for him. He was longing for her. A warm smile touched her lips and she let her eyes flutter shut, content, at least for the time, to drift back to her dreams.

srgeekover 14 years agoIs this about love or control, I wonder? Many things about human male/female interactions are not as they would seem on the surface. The teasing, manipulation that many writers cast as foreplay, is that what it is really about or is it exerting control and thus dominance. It seems to me that loving and dominance are strange bedfellows at best. The "love" shown by dominants / dominance is more akin to the husbanding of treasured and other livestock or acreage, not the life/partner love of a human for another or even a few other humans.

In the movie "Schindler's List" Schindler convinced the German camp commander that he could easily demonstrate his life and death power over the inmates by choosing not to kill them. The German commander realized that even if only he was aware of the choice, no one else mattered.

The same distinction is true in love relationships. People who are dominated can often be convinced or browbeaten into accepting it or even thinking it is a good thing. People who are not dominated require no psycho management at all to be happy in a relationship.
